Video meetings
Meet with your colleagues and anyone else by video, with webcams and screen sharing, from webmail or a calendar event. Meetings are part of plans with Meetings; your organization's owners and admins can turn them off for everyone (Features and sharing in the tenant manager).
Starting one now
In webmail, open Meetings (the camera in the top bar) and choose Start a meeting now. The meeting opens in a new tab; send its link to anyone who should join.
Scheduling one
Choose Schedule a meeting in Meetings, or tick Add a video meeting when you make a calendar event. When you save the event, its place and notes get the meeting's link, and your guests' invitations carry it to them, from any calendar app. The meeting has the event's title and times.
Joining
Open the link. Before anyone sees or hears you, the page shows a preview: choose whether your camera and microphone start on, then Join. In the meeting:
- Mute / Unmute your microphone, Stop camera / Start camera.
- Share screen: a whole screen, a window or a browser tab, with its sound where your browser offers it. The shared screen fills the middle; everyone's video moves to the side. Stop sharing ends it.
- Leave; the meeting's host can End for everyone.
The person speaking is outlined. Meetings work in current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, on computers and phones; screen sharing needs a computer.
Guests
People outside your organization join with the guest link (Copy guest link in Meetings, or the link in the invitation). They type their name, which everyone sees with (guest) after it, so a guest can never pass for one of your people. Guests cannot end the meeting or remove anyone.
The meeting's host, and your organization's owners and admins, can:
- New guest link: the old guest link stops working at once (people already in stay).
- Turn guests off for the meeting: then only your organization's people can join.
- Remove the meeting: anyone in it is sent out and its links stop working.
Your colleagues join as themselves with either link, once signed in to webmail, under the name on their mailbox.
Limits
Your plan sets how many people can be in one meeting. Meetings are not recorded; recording and live captions may come later as features of their own.
